Eight districts of the state to get new charity office buildings

New charity office buildings with full amenities to be constructed at Gir Somnath-Veraval-Botad-Aravalli’s Modasa-Surendranagar-Bhuj-Lunawada-Himmatnagar and Morbi
CM congratulates the state’s Charity Commissionerate for fulfilling the Prime Minister’s Digital India resolution with the digitization of over 4 crore documents

Gandhinagar, Wednesday: CM while laying foundation stone of new Charity Office Buildings to be constructed in 8 districts of the state said that, the State Government is making efforts towards constructing Charity Office Buildings in all the districts of the state.
CM conducted the ground breaking ceremony of these 8 buildings from Gandhinagar in the presence of Law Minister Shri Rajendra Trivedi and Minister of State Shri Devabhai Malam by video conference.
The construction of this charity office building will be undertaken at a cost of Rs. 22 crore at Veraval of Gir Somnath, Botad, Modasa of Aravalli, Surendranagar, Bhuj, Lunawada, Himmatnagar and Morbi.
CM also congratulated the state’s charity commisionerate for completing the huge task of digitization of about 4 crore documents on this occasion. With the digitization of this record, people will now be able to access their trust information at home. He also appreciated the contribution of the charity in fulfilling the vision of Digital India given by the Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi.
The Chief Minister said that the charity has initiated a number of reforms under the direction of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi to regulate and assist the operations of about three and a half lakh registered trusts in the state.
Now, litigants will easily get justice because of these new charity office buildings. In addition, the modern buildings will eliminate the need for people to go to different places for charity work.
Law Minister Shri Rajendra Trivedi on the occasion said that since the administration of all religious and charitable trusts in the state applies to the wider interest of the society, the assets of such trusts are useful in the interest of the society. This virtual bhumi pujan of new office building has been done by CM.
The Minister added that this decision has been taken under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Bhai Modi to strengthen the charitable system in the state as part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Minister of State Shri Devabhai Malam, Law Secretary Shri Rawal, Charity Commissioner Shri Shukla and senior officers from Gandhinagar, as well as district administration officials from district headquarters participated in the virtual lays foundation ceremony of these charity offices.
Charity Commissioner Shri Shukla welcomed all and gave an introductory speech on the role of Charity Commissioner’s Office in the public interest and social welfare.
