Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today categorically stated that India’s ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ is aimed at to make ‘Maa Bharati’ (Motherland India) as the ‘World Guru’ by fulfilling the dreams envisaged by India’s freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Subhashchandra Bose and others, who had sacrificed everything to win the independence for India.
In this reference, he said that Gujarat, which had taken lead in India’s freedom movement, today under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi is set to make India – ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Poverty’, ‘Corruption’, and ‘Fear-Hunger’ free – Shresth Bharat (The Best India); the mass consciousness of people had also commenced from this land as historical ‘Dandi Yatra’ similarly the launching of celebrations of 75 years India’s independence as ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ was also initiated from very same land.
The Chief Minister today became a witness to the Padyatra that was started in memory of historical ‘Dandi Yatra’ from Sabarmati Ashram on March 12, during its night-halt at Nadia in Kheda district. Mr. Rupani had arrived at Nadiad to welcome 81 Padyatris of the Yatra. He had also accompanied these Padyatris in covering the distance from Gandhi Statue to Santram Mandir.
The Chief Minister further stated that ‘The Amrut Mahotsav’ has been organized with an objective to give the present and future generations an insight into India’s freedom movement and to understand the emotions and sacrifices of India’s freedom heroes for the country and will deliver a message to them ‘To live for the Nation’. The celebrations of ‘The Amrut Mahotsav’ for 75 years of India’s independence will be done in three parts with lasting for 75 weeks with organizing various programmes that would relive lives of India’s freedom heroes, revolts of 1857, and India’s freedom movement.
Mr. Rupani also recalled the freedom heroes such as Lok Manya Tilak, Khudiram Bose, Bhagat Singh, Subhashchandra Bose, Madam Cama, Shyamji Krushna Verma, Sardarsinh Rana, Tatya Tope, Maharshi Arvind, Zaverchand Meghani and others who laid-down their lives for India’s freedom. He also recalled and narrated the historical ‘Salt Satyagrah’.
He also urged the people to make pledge that when India complete 100-year of its Independence than India should become a ‘Great India’, ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, and ‘India as World-Super-Power’.
On behalf of entire Gujarat, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Union Minister for State Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel for his accompanying with participating padyatris from Sabarmati to Nadiad, a distance of 75 km.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Nadiad’s MLA and Chief Whip of Gujarat Assembly Mr. Pankaj Desai, Union Minister Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel.
Those who graced the event with their presence are Kheda’s Member of Parliament Mr. Devusinh, MLA (Mahemdavad) Mr. Arjunsinh, Mahant Shree of Santram Temple and others.
