    Gandhinagar, Sunday: As part of the tradition of celebrating National Festivals at different district headquarters instead of the state capital, the 1st May Foundation Day celebrations have been organised in Patan district of North Gujarat.

    As part of this celebration, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel inaugurated various development works. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel has said that our Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi has started the era of development politics for the last 2 decades. His conviction has also reached the masses. Gujarat is advancing the campaign launched by Shri Narendrabhai to link public participation in the development of the state at a faster pace. As a result, Gujarat has become a role model of development through public participation. He added that the festival of development is being celebrated among the people and its benefits are reaching to each and every resident and even remote places.

    Chief Minister Shri today announced development works for Patan district in a program organized at Patan on the occasion of Gujarat Gaurav Divas celebrations. In which development works worth Rs. 140.68 crore were announced to be undertaken in Patan district. Along with this, the Chief Minister also announced an increase of 3% in the allowance for state employees from July 21.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has decided to give a three per cent increase in the dearness allowance of the employees of Gujarat Government on the basis of Central Government with effect from 01-07-2021. It has also been decided that this additional benefit will be available only to the employees who have been given the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission.

    As per the decision of the Chief Minister, a total of 9.38 lakh people including state government, panchayat service and other state government employees and pensioners will get this additional benefit of inflationary allowance. It is a commendable decision to give 7% increase in the dearness allowance of the employees and pensioners who are benefiting from the 6th pay commission of the state government on the basis of the central government with effect from 01-07-2021.

    Announcing the development works, the Chief Minister said that Rs. 140.68 crore would be allocated from the ‘Amrut-2.0’ scheme for public welfare works including water supply, drainage lines and 8 renovation works of lakes in the towns of Patan district. Out of this, Rs 127 crore will be used for water supply and drainage works in Patan city alone. Rs 86 lakh for water supply works in Siddhpur municipality in Patan district, Rs 6.41 crore for water supply works in Chaansma municipality and Rs 1 crore for lake renovation, Rs 3.94 crore for water supply works in Harij municipality and Rs 1 crore for pond renovation. Including all, in total 140.68 crore development works were announced by the Chief Minister.

    In addition to this, fire and safety, infrastructure will be strengthened and a model fire station will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 5 crore to make Patan district self-reliant against possible incidents of fire. It also includes the construction of a civic center at a cost of Rs. 38 lakhs for the people of Patan district to carry out their daily activities easily.

    Wishing the people of the entire state a happy 1st May – Foundation Day, the Chief Minister said that Gujarat has established new dimensions of development since its inception as a separate state. In Gujarat, which has the capacity to extract water from stone, there is a new path of development under the leadership of the then Chief Minister and the present Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai.

    Gujarat is the growth engine of the entire country. On the occasion of the foundation day celebrations, the Chief Minister called upon the people to make a commitment by constructing 75 lakes in Patan district.

    The Chief Minister further said that what has been the development in the last two decades? What is development? – That Shri Narendrabhai Modi has shown the whole world. It is a matter of pride for all of us that Gujarat has been able to reach new heights of development as a result of the number of decisions taken by the BJP-ruled state government to accelerate the pace of development.

    The Chief Minister further said that 20 years ago there was a 360 km long bulk line in the state and today 2685 km long bulk line has been commissioned in the state. The state government is working to make the glory of water-energy-knowledge power which Shri Narendra Bhai Modi highlighted, more result oriented. The state has set up 111 universities in the last two decades.

    The Chief Minister said that the state government is also working hard to embody the digital revolution that our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Bhai Modi has embarked on across the country. The state has made a number of decisions as part of bringing technology to the last human being. The Certificate of Income limit has been extended to 3 years, decisions like issuing lifetime handicapped certificate has been welcomed by all. He expressed confidence that the Science Center started today in Patan would be a major attraction for the students.

    On this occasion, Minister for Co-operation and in charge of the district Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma said that today all Gujaratis are proud that this foundation day is being celebrated in Patan. This tradition was started by the then Chief Minister and the present Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi with the idea that the founding day of Gujarat should be celebrated not only in Gandhinagar but in every district of Gujarat and at the same time many development works should be done.

    Minister Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma further said that while this Gaurav Divas being celebrated in Patan district in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, many development works have also been gifted by the Chief Minister to the citizens of Patan today.

    Education Minister Shri Jitubhai Vaghani said that the best science center of the state has been started in Patan. The center has been set up as part of efforts to broaden the understanding of science. Ahmedabad-based Science City has also become the center of attraction of the whole of India today. The state government is constantly working to increase the interest of students in science. He further said that ‘Science Centers’ would be started in 25 districts in the near future.

    Shri Jitubhai Vaghani said that Patan is famous all over the world for its ‘Patola’ and ‘Ranki Vav’. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, the state is moving ahead with the politics of development, as a result of which the talent of the entire state based in Patan has been reaching a new height, he added.

    On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released the book ‘Atulya Varso Patan’.

    On this occasion MP Shri Bharatbhai Dabhi, Survey MLAs, Collector Shri, District Development Officer Shri as well as District BJP office bearers and officials besides a large number of people were present.
