After assessing the loss of crop reports of 2554 villages in 50 talukas affected in 14 districts responds in favour of the farmers
Benefit of assistance package will be provided to those farmers who had to bear the loss of 33 percent and above

Gandhinagar, Friday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has taken an important decision in the interest of more than 8 lakh farmers of the state by announcing Rs. 630.34 crore assistance package.
This assistance package has been announced with a generous approach to help the farmers for the loss of crops loss due to heavy rains in the Kharif season of 2022. This year, due to heavy rains in 14 districts, there was widespread loss of agricultural crops.
Reports of crop loss in 2554 villages of a total of 50 talukas of Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Panchmahal, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Tapi, Surat, Kutch, Junagadh, Morbi, Porbandar, Anand, Kheda districts were received by the state government through the respective district administrations.
After having comprehensive assessment of these reports and also keeping in mind the presentations submitted by farmers, farmers’ organizations and public representatives. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel by adopting a sensitive approach announced 630.34 crore rupees assistance package.
More than 8 lakh farmers in an area of approximately 9.12 lakh hectares of land in the state will benefit from this package.
Agriculture Minister Shri Raghavji Patel gave details of this assistance package announced by the state government under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.
He said that under this assistance package, it has been determined that the farmers who have suffered 33 percent and more crop loss for agricultural crops (except banana leaf ) will be provided Rs. 6800 assistance from SDRF as well as state budget within a maximum limit of two hectares. While for the loss of plantain crop, a total of Rs. 30,000 per hectare assistance up to a maximum of two hectares (Rs.13500 per hectare from SDRF budget plus additional assistance from state budget of Rs.16500 per hectare) for which the provision has also been made in this package.
An important decision has also been made that an assistance of 4 thousand will have to be paid even for the cases where amount of assistance payable as per SDRF norms on the basis of land holding is Rs. 4 thousand. In such case the amount of assistance payable in addition to the assistance available from SDRF will be paid from the State Budget.
Shri Raghavji Patel added that In order to get the benefit of this package to the farmers immediately and without any delay and the entire procedure is done online, the government has created a system to open the Agricultural Relief Package portal on Digital Gujarat and for this, the farmers can apply online along with the necessary documents at the nearest e-Gram centre.
To get the benefit of the package, the farmers have to submit Village Sample No.8-A, Palm Plantation Pattern/Village Sample No. in the prescribed application form. 7-12, copy of bank passbook page showing Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank account number, IFSC code and name, “no-objection consent letter” signed by the other holders regarding the benefit being given to one holder among the joint holders in case of joint account etc. Application should be made online in the prescribed format to Taluka Development Officer along with instrumental details.
Farmers will not have to pay any fees or expenses for applying, the state government will bear the cost, the agriculture minister said while giving the details of this assistance package.
