Jivdaya (Care for Animals) is our culture: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel
Gandhinagar, 22 July 2023: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel marked his special presence at the felicitation ceremony organised by the Karuna Foundation Trust Animal Helpline at the Hemu Gadhvi Hall in Rajkot.
In his address during the event, the CM said, “ It is in our culture to feed birds and animals first and then have food. Various organisations are working towards the welfare of cows and other animals. In addition to that, every person of the state must help and support for the welfare of animals.”
He also said that the use of chemical fertilisers have made the land infertile which causes a number of diseases. Hence, it is imperative to adopt cow-based natural farming in which the fertility of land, maintenance of cows, availability of nutritious food to citizens is ensured through a campaign run by Hon’ble Governor. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also initiated a campaign for the construction of 75 Amrut Sarovars in every district, Mission LiFE etc.
Agriculture Minister Shri Raghavji Patel in his address said, “ To encourage people and organisations engaged in animal welfare in Gujarat, the government has made a special provision of Rs 500 crore in this year’s budget. Today, more than 1100 institutions receive assistance of ₹ 30 per animal per day. Various schemes have also been implemented by the state government for the welfare of cattle.
Water Supply Minister Shri Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya, Minister of Social Justice Smt. Bhanuben Babaria, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and concerned officials were present during the event.
