CM virtually attends the crop aid cheque distribution program organized by APMC Unjha

    Gandhinagar, Sunday:  Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today virtually joined and guided the farmers in the crop aid cheque distribution program organised by Agriculture Produce Market Committee of Unjha. Unjha APMC has contributed at a great in the glorious tradition of co-operation in the state.

    Mr. Rupani said that Unjha Market Committee has been functional for the benefit of farmers since 1954. He said that our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has taken an inspiring step towards the development of the nation through initiating for the Department of Co-operation. He added that co-operative societies in the state including Amul, Unjha Market Committee are guiding the nation.

    Cooperative organisation are working for the welfare of the farmers. Unjha Market Committee has expressed concern over the farmers through this cheque distribution program. He also appreciated the ongoing work of the organization in providing accident insurance scheme, tree guard, oxygen concentrator machine during Covid-19.

    The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has envisioned doubling the income of farmers so that they can get the price of their produces. Various farmer centric schemes have been implemented by the government. He added that in the past, 18 per cent interest on farm loans was taken from farmers. Today, the government has done a great job of giving loans to 17 lakh farmers in the state at zero percent and getting them out of the clutches of interest.

    In the last four years, 32 lakh tonnes of farm produce of 38 lakh farmers has been purchased at MSP of Rs. 17000 crores in the wider interest of farmers. State government has not increased the agricultural power load by a single penny since 1995 which has made the farmer prosperous.

    Mr. Rupani added that in the interest of farmers, a package of Rs 3,795 crore during non-seasonal rains in 2019, Rs. 3,700 crore in 2020 and announced a relief package Rs. 500 crore for the citizens of the three affected districts in Tauktae cyclone. The state government has enriched the farmers through various schemes including Seven steps for farmer welfare, Kisan Suryoday Yojana.

    Gujarat government was concerned about the workers during the Covid-19 pandemic and has allowed to continue business. “We have been able to control the second wave without imposing complete lockdown. The government is also prepared for the possible third wave,” said CM.

    Chief Minister added that there were 45 thousand oxygen beds in the state which has been increased to 01 lakh beds. 08 lakh citizens have recovered from corona. A monthly assistance of Rs. 4 thousand has been announced for the children’s who got orphans in Corona.

    Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Udit Agarwal said that Unjha APMC is like a guide for others. The work of this market committee is exemplary and works for the upliftment of the farmers.

    Apart from this, in the direction of planting trees, APMC has decided to provide 1000 tree guards to various organizations in the taluka as part of which the organization were handed over with tree guards.

    MLA Dr. Ashaben Patel, District Collector Udit Agarwal, District Development Officer Dr. Om Prakash, District Superintendent of Police Dr. Partharaj Singh Gohil, Social Leader Somabhai Modi, Leader Jashubhai Patel, KC Patel, Kaushalya Kunwarba Parmar, APMC Chairman Dineshbhai Patel, APMC office bearers and farmers attended the function.
