Gandhinagar, Sunday: Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Mr. Lawrence Wong and the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.
During the interaction with the Chief Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore said this is his first visit to Gujarat and he is very impressed with the development of various sectors including infrastructure of the state.
Mr. Lawrence Wong gave details of the investments made by Singaporean investors-entrepreneurs in the fields of trade, investment, finance in Gujarat.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel while welcoming the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore to Gujarat said that the relations between India, Gujarat and Singapore have been warm encouraging long-term investments, business and industries. Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has created such a sound eco system that once investors-businessmen from other countries come to Gujarat for investment, Gujarat becomes their permanent choice.
Chief Minister added, that the approach of the State Government has always been positive to provide necessary facilities to industrialists and investors from other nations including Singapore. He further said that this eco system has become useful in realizing the mantra of Sauno Saath, Sauno Vikas given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also suggested and invited the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore to visit the Statue of Unity on his next visit. Chief Minister expressed the hope that Singapore’s participation in the series of Vibrant Summits will continue in the future.
Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Mr. Lawrence Wong said that Gujarat is the second largest investment destination for Singapore. Also, all the Singaporean business investors operating in Gujarat are fully satisfied with the government’s policies, encouraging environment.
Mr. Lawrence Wong mentioned that besides sectors like finance, transport, infrastructure, fintech, green energy, hydrogen energy also has huge investment potential in Gujarat-India.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore also extended a cordial invitation to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel to visit Singapore. He said that the visit will provide a new boost to Singapore’s businesses, industries, investors attracted to invest in India and especially in Gujarat.
Finance Minister Shri Kanu Desai, Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar, Shri Ashish of NSE, MD of Gift City Shri Tapan Ray, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department Shri Rajkumar, Chief Minister’s Additional Principal Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, Energy Department Principal Secretary Smt. Mamta Verma, Industries Commissioner Shri Rahul Gupta and senior officials were present.
