CM lays foundation stone and dedicates developmental works of Rs. 613.19 crores in ChhotaUdaipur

    Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupanitoday laid foundation stone and dedicated developmental works of worth Rs. 613.19 crores in Chhota Udaipur district. He said that the pace of development has come to a standstill dueto Covid-19 pandemic across the world, but Gujarat has stand strong to fight against the pandemic and keep up the development works. Despite of Covid-19 pandemic people of Gujarat have realized developmental works of worth Rs. 25000 crores in last five months.

    The development works worth Rs. 601.88 crore are also included in this development work to provide clean drinking water to the citizens of Chhota Udaipur district.

    Recalling his determination to supply tap water to all households in the state by the year 2022, Mr. Rupani said that we need to make Gujarat a water surplus state. The state has set up a water grid of one lakh km long pipeline for water distribution just like the electricity grid and gas grid to deliver tap water to remote locations in the state.

    Developmental works of Rs. 5700 crores of water supply schemes have been taken into hands in last one month in the state.

    Criticizing the works done by past government Mr. Rupani said that, if you look at the past situation, only 26 per cent of the houses had tap connection facility earlier.Our government has increased it to 82 percent. Our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has a dream to provide tap connections to every houses by 2024. Gujarat has a strong plan to supply tap water to all the households in the state by the year 2022.

    In past Development works were carried out during elections to win votes of the citizens. Foundation stones were laid at that time and no further development was seen on that. But Our Government inaugurates every single project for which the foundation stone has been laid.

    Our Government has always keep development at the center and has always focused for the overall development. We make good use of citizens’ hard earned money through transparent governance.Earlier the state budget was only 8-9 thousand crore. Today, it has risen to Rs. 2.10 lakh crore, added Mr. Rupani.

    Briefing about the JankalyanJoyjana inaugurated by our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Rupani said that construction of toilets in every houses has shown a path to dignified life to every woman. Various other schemes have been implemented for the upliftment of poor and deprived people.

    Explaining the role of the steps taken by the state government for the overall development of the tribal areas, Mr. Rupani said that the scope of education has been expanded to enable the tribal youth to become medical engineers.

    Stating that a strong state of law and order is also a need for development, he apprised the audience of the amendments to the Pasa Act, the Land Grabbing Act, the Gunda Act and the laws tightened by the state government in cases of sexual assault.

    Minister of State Mr. BachubhaiKhabad in his occasional speech said that, adequate drinking water facilities were not made available in the tribal areas for 42 years after independence.Despite being close to other rivers, including the Narmada, concrete drinking water has not been planned in the past.As a result of the visionary planning of the then Chief Minister and the present Prime Minister of the country Mr. Narendra Modi, pure drinking water has been delivered to the remote areas of the state.

    On the occasion MP Smt. GitabenRathva, MLA Mr. AbhesinhTadvi, MP Mr. RamsinhRathwa, Former MLA Shri ShankarbhaiRathwa,Mr. VechatbhaiRathwa, Mr.JayantibhaiRathwa, Member Secretary Mr. Mayurbhai Mehta, Leaders, Office bearers and officials from water supply department remained present.
