Gandhinagar, Monday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel has adopted the approach of providing grant-funding for prominent works in towns and cities under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shehari Vikas Yojana.
Town welfare in such prominent works to create a distinctive identity of the town through public interest works.
For this purpose, Mr. Patel approves the proposal and give In-principal approval of Rs.3 crore 90 lakh of the Urban Development Department submitted for various works in the Riverfront proposal for prominent work in Surendranagar – Dudhrej, Wadhwan Municipality.
As a result of this in-principle approval given by Mr. Bhupendra Patel, the municipality will now undertake the construction of RCC Retaining Wall as well as road from MP Shah College to ST Stand.
The Chief Minister has given In-principal approval of Rs.2 crore 95 lakh to Kalol Municipality for lake beautification under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
It is pertinent to point out here that under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, the state government allocates funds for carrying out various development works of distinctive identity in towns and cities.
Accordingly, once every two years, Rs. 5 crore for ‘A’ class municipalities, for class ‘B’ municipalities Rs. 4 Crore for every two years, for ‘C’ municipalities Rs.3 crore as well as Rs. 2 crore is allotted for ‘D’ Municipalities.
So far in the year of 2021-22, 6 municipalities of the state have been allotted Rs.10.51 crores under the Swarnim Jyanti Mukhyamantri Shehari Yojana for developmental works.
