CM lays foundation stone of drinking water project worth Rs.241.34 crores of Dhanera

    Gujarat Chief Minster Mr. Vijay Rupani today laid the foundation stone of drinking water project of worth Rs. 241.34 crores at Dhanera in Banaskantha district. These works will provide clean drinking water to 119 villages of Dhanera, Dantiwada and Deesa talukas and will benefit 3,91,000 people of Dhanera.

    On the occasion Mr. Rupani said that, our government is firmly committed for the convenience, well-being and all-round development of the people of the state. Stating that the development journey of Gujarat has not stopped even during the COVID-19 Pandemic Mr. Rupani said that, we have laid foundation stone and dedicated various developmental projects. Making an important announcement for Banaskantha district, the Chief Minister said that Narmada water would be provided to 156 villages of Deesa and Lakhni talukas at a cost of Rs. 500 crores. He said that works of Rs. 71 crores for improvement schemes based will be carried out for Danta and Palanpur.

    Under the visionary leadership of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi Gujarat has become a model state. Huge efforts are made every year by Sujalam Sufalam Yojana to enrich the water resources of Gujarat. Developmental works of more than Rs. 17000 crores have been inaugurated in last four-five months in the state.

    People of Banaskantha have faced water crisis in past years, due to the huge campaign of the state government for the welfare of the people, the best facilities of drinking water have been made available in Banaskantha. He said that like energy sector, Gujarat has become a water surplus state in water sector.

    Gujarat Chief Minster Mr. Vijay Rupani today performed groundbreaking of Navda-Chavand bulk pipeline project of worth Rs. 644 Crores.

    Addressing the farmers of the state from Chavand in Lathi taluka of Amreli district Mr. Rupani said that state government is fully committed to meet the electricity and water needs of the farmers of the state. State government is planning for that through good governance, so the people of Saurashtra do not face water scarcity due to low rainfall.

    Mr. Rupani said that, this confluence of sea and river water will prove to be a milestone in the time to come. State Government is committed to complete the “Sauni” scheme in the year 2021, which was flooded with the efforts of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to make Gujarat a water-rich state. He gave a glimpse of the development works of worth Rs. 1976 crore done in the last two days in the state. On this occasion, the Chief Minister called on the first Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Jivraj Mehta and Rajvi kavi kalapi.

    As many as 33 lakh people across 1298 villages of Gondal, Jetpur, Upleta, Dhoraji, Jamkandorna, Ranavav, Porbandar, Kutiyana talukas will be benefitted through this scheme.

    Secretary Water Supply Mr. Mayur Mehta delivered welcome note. Chief Minister was greeted by dignitaries of Amreli district. A short documentary detailing the Navada-Chavand bulk pipeline project to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister was aired on the occasion. Water Supply Minister Mr. Kuvarjibhai Bavaliya detailed about the scheme.
