Chief Minister launches website www.ektayatra.com to spread the message of Sardar Patel in the run-up to unveiling Statue of Unity

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today launched the website www.ektayatra.com on an Ekta Yatra to be held across Gujarat to mark the unveiling of the world’s tallest Statue of Unity by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birthday on October 31, 2018.

The website gives details of the Ekta Yatra in which the Ekta Rath will be taken out through 10,000 villages of the state in two phases in October and November. The website also acquaints the people about the contribution of Sardar Patel in uniting India at the time of Independence, instilling patriotism, rising above the divisive forces fragmenting the country in castes and religions.

Essay competition, elocution contest and quiz on the life and time of Sardar Patel will also be held during the Ekta Rath touring the state, screening videos at the halts.

Those present during the launch of the website included Additional Chief Secretary for Home A.M. Tiwari and Chief Principal Secretary K. Kailashnathan.
