Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani, in order to ensure the provision of essential items to citizens during the nationwide lockdown, has been motivating the state administration for efficient micro-management for the ease of citizens. As instructed by the Chief Minister, Secretary to CM Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Secretary for Co-operatives Mr. Manish Bhardwaj and Secretary for Department of Food and Civil Supplies Mr. Mohammad Shahid have been guiding the district officials and co-operatives through video conference for better planning and management.
Secretary to CM Mr. Ashwani Kumar said, “A dedicated Control Room has been started at the State Emergency Operation Center to ensure easy facilitation and monitoring of essential items for the citizens of Gujarat. The control room will be operational 24×7.” Secretary of Civil Supplies Mr. Dhananjay Dwivedi and Secretary of Tribal Development Department Mr. Anupam Anand have been given the responsibility of the overall co-ordination and management of the control centers.

59 thousand quintals of vegetables have arrived in the state’s markets today morning. 13655 quintals of potatoes, 4350 quintals of onions, 6900 quintals of tomatoes, and 34000 quintals of green vegetables have been made available. There are around 68 vegetable markets in the state. In addition to vegetables, 610 quintals of bananas, 670 quintals of apples and 1100 quintals of various fruits have been made available in the market.
More than 3.25 crore poor people from 60 lakh families are being provided essential grains such as wheat, rice, pulses, and sugar free of cost. 55 lakh liters of milk distribution is being undertaken everyday through milk distribution centers. In addition to that, tetra packs and milk powder is also made available to the citizens.
Officers from other departments such as food and civil supplies, police, transportation, science and technology, urban development, panchayat and industries are also on their toes 24×7 at the SEOC. A nodal officer for each department has been appointed.
