The Experts Group of Doctors at its meeting at the Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani’s residence here today in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel and senior secretaries discussed the strategy to combat and control the continued spectre of global pandemic novel coronavirus COVID-19 for the next 30 days during Unlock-2.
The Group comprised Dr Atul Patel, Dr Tushar Patel, Dr R. K. Patel, Dr Maharshi, Dr Dilip Mavlankar, Dr. Pankaj Shah, Dr Amiben Parikh and Dr V. N. Shah.
They took note of decrease in the incidence of cases in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation limits. They discussed how best to assist the government to create awareness about the need for social distancing and other measures.
The Expert Group recommended a number of steps to the Gujarat Government on strategy, implementation, monitoring and supervision against ‘COVID-19’, as well as short-term, medium-term, and long-term measures to strengthen public health.
During the meeting, the expert group said that these doctors now using the scientific methods are trying to reduce the fear of corona and prevention of its transmission among the people. For disseminating the information about these scientific methods, these doctors make interactions with media at regular intervals.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Mukim, Mr. Kailashnathan – Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Pankaj Kumar — Chief Coordinating Officer of State for matters including treatment of Covid-19 and Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue, Mr. Manoj Kumar Das – Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Secretary Mr. Ashwini Kumar, and Health Secretary Mr. Jaiprakash Shivhare and others.
Principal Secretary (Health) Dr. Ravi Jayanti took part in the meeting through a video conference from Surat.
