Gujarat CM Shri Vijaybhai Rupani concludes Football Talent Hunt Tournament in Gandhinagar

    Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today concluded Oorja CAPF Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament here in Gandhinagar. In his address he said that as victory or progress may take place with team work in any sports, our 125 crore Indians will fulfill the desire of Naya Bharat with spirit of ‘Team India’ under capable leadership of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

    It is worth to mention here that this tournament was organized by Home Ministry of Union Government for under-19 youth players of Central Armed Police Forces such as CISF, BSF, CRPF, SSB and Indo-Tibet Border Police and Assam Riffles. Team Maharashtra and Goa made magnificent performance during the tournament. Mr. Rupani distributed medals to the winning team players in presence of Director General of CISF Mr. O. P. Singh, Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh and renowned cricketer from Gujarat Mr. Parthiv Patel.

    Mr. Rupani said that our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has initiated this Oorja CAPF Under-19 Tournament with handing over the complete planning to CISF with a view to develop an atmosphere for FIFA Under-17 World Cup in India and to provide an opportunity to new talent in football as well. Games such as football may lead to better health. A vibrant sports culture has been developed across the state through the grand sports event of Khel Mahakumbh organized by the state government. Gujarat has bagged 99 medals in Khelo India 2016-17 national games as a successful result of Khel Mahakumbh, he added.

    Mr. Rupani briefed people about government’s various promotional schemes of sports such as football. He greeted and wished to all players for bright future on behalf of 6.5 crore people of Gujarat. In his occasional speech Director General of CISF Mr. O. P. Singh gave details about the planning of the tournament and specialties. Young cricketer Mr. Parthiv Patel praised the efforts to make famous football such as cricket across the state.

    Cultural programmes were organized at the time of conclusion ceremony. On the occasion, family members of the players, senior officers, and invitees were remained present.
