    Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Technological University (GTU), the state’s largest technological university and a leading university in technical education at home and abroad, has been allotted 100 acres of land at Lekawada near Gandhinagar by the state government for construction of a new building. The foundation stone of the new campus of GTU was laid today in the presence of the Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, under the blessing of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah.

    Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah said that with the construction of the new campus of GTU, the dream of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of Global mission of making our country a leader in the field of technology will come true. He praised the achievements of GTU in the last 15 years and took the pledge of ‘Bharat Sarvapratham’ to be ahead in all fields when India completes 100 years of independence in 2047.

    Shri Amit Shah told the students about the benefits of the new education policy that the National Education Policy is not just a document but a mirror of the aspirations of the citizens. The new education policy is not just a book, but a library. The more you study this library, the more knowledge you will get. In the new education policy, priority has been given to Indian language, art and culture. Shri Narendra Modi has taken the initiative to improve the standard of living of people through technology.

Regional languages ​​have been given importance in the new education policy. Today courses are being prepared in regional languages. In which more than 17 buildings will be established. In addition to School of Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Admin Building, Examination Centre and Data Centre, Girls and Boys Hostel, Advanced Center Library, Chancellor and General Secretary’s bungalows, Class-2 and 3 categories will include staff quarters, cafeteria, pharmacy, research related animal house. Apart from this, ATM and post office facilities will also be provided for the convenience of all employees. Disclosing the features of the new campus of GTU, he added that the entire campus will be powered by solar light by installing solar panels on an area of ​​18 thousand square meters on various buildings. By which renewable energy sources can be used to a greater extent to curb the green house effects and other nature-damaging activities. Entire campus will be built at the same time. In addition, modern auditoriums and sports stadiums will be constructed to boost the cultural activities of the students.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that with the construction of a new large complex of Gujarat Technological University, the global vision given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra for the educational institutions of the state will be realized. GTU It is a university providing best educational facilities and one umbrella to the youth of the state.

    Shri Narendra Modi has set up the GTU, the goal of bringing various technical educational institutes of the state to a platform, he added. The Chief Minister said that the dream of Shri Narendra Modi of the new GTU campus is going to come true in the presence of the respected Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. In the fifteen years since its establishment, GTU has achieved a lot, has scaled numerous peaks of success. He added that for 35 years after the establishment of Gujarat, there were only 7 universities in the state. The youth of Gujarat had to go to other states to study for engineering or medical degree by paying high fee-donation. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi reversed this situation and paved the way for setting up sector-specific and large number of universities in the state, as a result of which 102 universities are functioning in the career development of the youth in Gujarat today.

    The Chief Minister mentioned that Gujarat has been ranked first in the start-up ranking for three consecutive years and applauded the spirit of innovation and start-up among the youth of the state. He expressed the view that GTU provides an excellent platform to the youth for innovation and startup. Chief Minister said that due to the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Bhai, the development journey of Gujarat has not stopped in any difficult situation. Gujarat has become a role model for development. He added that the state government is continuously working for the overall development of Gujarat. Chief Minister expressed confidence that the students of GTU will be leaders in realizing the vision of Atmanirbhar India by building Atmanirbhar Gujarat through innovation and technology.

    Chancellor of GTU Prof. Dr. Navin Seth said that GTU is determined to realize the goal of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to build the world’s best technical university in Gujarat as well. The construction of the new building of GTU is targeted to be completed within the time limit of next two years. A grant of Rs.275 crore has been given to GTU by the state government for the construction of this building. This newly shaped campus will be built on the theme of green building which will be covered with more than 5000 trees. Trees like lime, pipalo, banyan, borsali, gulamhor, ambali will be planted. Apart from this, Ayurvedic medicinal plants will also be planted in an area of ​​two thousand square meters. In which medicinal plants like Ardusi, Ashwagandha, Amla, Giloy and Jambu will also be planted. A 2.50 km cycle track will be constructed for transportation throughout the campus with common parking to ensure a 100 percent clean and pollution free natural environment.
