“Gujarat heading towards normalcy with decrease in number of new cases and decrease in discharge rate”

Gandhinagar, Sunday: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today exuded confidence to beat the second wave of coronavirus with right directions and right efforts in collaboration with people and voluntary organisations, and make Gujarat the first state to come out of the pandemic.
While there was a surge in cases in the month of April, he said the situation is now coming under control with positive cases decreasing and discharge rate increasing.
Mr. Rupani was speaking from here to mark e-dedication of four new oxygen plants set up by Vallabh Youth Organisation at a cost of Rs.1.28-crore at Vadodara for four hospitals in the city in the wake of increased demand for oxygen to treat coronavirus patients. They SSG, Gotri, Vrajdham and Narhari Hospitals. The NGO has resolved to set up 18 oxygen plants.
He said that with incessant supply of oxygen no patients would be allowed to die for want of oxygen. The state government’s efforts have added one lakh beds, ensured supply of 1.100 MT of oxygen daily, 7-lakh Remdesivir injection and other medicines.
Mr. Rupani said the State Task Force comprising doctors, scientists, biotechnologists with senior officers will review at its meeting tomorrow the preparation for likely third wave of the pandemic.
The organisation’s promoter Vrajkumarji Goswami said the Gujarat Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is relentlessly working day and night with the administration for the health of the people in this hour of crisis.
