Free ration distribution started through Fair Price Shops to PHH and Antyoday families across the state

    Under the guidance of Chief minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani  state government has started free food-grain and ration distribution to antyoday families through fair prices shops across the state.

    In the wake of the lockdown announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the current situation of Corona virus outbreak throughout the country, Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani made a significant decision to provide free ration to laborers and poor families identified under National food security scheme.  Around 3.25 Cr people from 66 Lac such families will be given free ration in the state.

    Free distribution of food grains has begun at around 17,000 government-approved fair price grain shops across the state. On the first day, more than 10 lakh cardholder-beneficiaries have benefited from distribution. The Chief Secretary guided District Collectors – Municipal Commissioners to ensure smooth execution of distribution system through video conference.

    During the distribution, social distancing was also maintained. With the help of local authorities and coordination with police and health department, distribution is being executed.
