Indian Institute of Skills to be set up under the “Skill India” mission inspired by Prime Minister

Gandhinagar, Monday: With the aim of strengthening the Skill Ecosystem of Gujarat which is developing new dimensions in the field of skills and for the establishment of Indian Institute of Skills for education of youth with skills, a tri-party agreement between the Government of Gujarat, Government of India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Tata IIS was concluded in Gandhinagar.
A tri-party agreement was signed by the three partners and also exchanged words with each other in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel. Minister of Labour and Employment Mr. Brijesh Merja was also present during this occasion.
It is important to point out that IIS-Ahmedabad holds a special place in this mission of skill development. In the same way for the field of management Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for the field of technology are world famous, same way this educational institute is to be established with the approach of gaining fame in the field of Indian Institutes of Skills (IISs).
In this institute world class training and education with latest technology and equipment will be available for the students. Not only this, but in order to provide the students with advanced knowledge and training about the methods and devices associated with the industries, they will be connected with various industries. For the purpose to provide state-of-the-art skills training to the youth of the state and for the youth to advance in the field of skills and make Gujarat famous all over the world. The Indian Institute of Skills-Ahmedabad is going to be established in Nasmed Gandhinagar with advanced infrastructural facilities, for which 20 acres of land has been allotted by the Government of Gujarat.
On the occasion of signing this tripartite agreement Labour and Employment Department Principal Secretary Smt. Anju Sharma, Director of Employment and Training Mr. Lalit Narayan Singh Sandhu, Government of India officials also Tata Trust CEO Mr. N Srinath, CFO Mr. Mehrab Irani, Tata Indian Institute of Skills CEO Mr. Sabyasachi Das and Senior Advisor Mr. Shrinivas and senior officers from Department of Labour and Employment were present.
