    CM holds in-depth review meeting for Ram Navamiincidents in Himmatnagar and Khambhat

    Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel chaired a high level meeting of the Home Department in the presence of Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Harsh Sanghvi for an in-depth review of the events that took place on the day of Ram Navami in Himmatnagar of Sabarkantha district and Khambhat of Anand district.

    Attempts to disrupt the peace, security and social harmony of the state have been made by some people at these two places, taking this seriously, the Home Department and the police have taken strict action against the persons involved in the incidents, the Minister of State for Home Affairs informed the Chief Minister at the meeting.

    Investigation into these incidents we found 9 persons in Khambhat and 22 persons in Himmatnagar and the police have taken legal action including arrest against a total of 31 persons.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel made it clear to the Police and Home Department that Gujarat is renowned across the nation for peace, security and development, in order to maintain it, the police system must come out strongly against such elements who want to disturb the peace of the state.

    GoG is committed to maintain peace, security and social harmony in the state and will not entertain any such issue under any circumstances.

    Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri K. Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Shri Rajkumar, Director General of Police Shri Ashish Bhatia and senior police officers were present during the meeting.
