Gandhinagar, Saturday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel has said that the Gujarat government is dedicated to the tradition of compassion and kindness towards cattle. A program to salute Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel for announcing “Mukhyamantri Gaumata Poshan Yojana” was organized by Jain Sanghs, Gaushala and Panjrapol of Ahmedabad. In this greeting program, the Chief Minister expressed the clear view that it is the need of the hour to live a life where Jivdaya is not only a life-giving activity but a part of life.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister further said that while the greatness of Gau Mata is also described in our culture, the state government has given priority to the service, compassion and empathy towards all the cattle, including Gaumata.

He said that the ‘Pashu Arogya Medo’ organized by the then Chief Minister and present Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi in Gujarat in the year 2002 to relieve the animals from their ailments and pain, proves that he has immense love for animals in his heart. The Gujarat government has kept this process working and freed millions of animals from their physical pain. He further said that there were many hurdles in bringing the cow slaughter ban law in Gujarat but we have succeeded in it due to the will of the state government. It is unfortunate that some elements in bringing the Animal Control Act in the Legislature are trying to propagate itself for the state government in the society associated with livestock, he added.

The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amitabhai Shah, the Government of Gujarat has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the people.

Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said that a unique coincidence is happening today. The beginning of Hindu New Year today, the beginning of Chaitri Navratri and today’s Jivadaya salutation ceremony may be the coincidence of this God. Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, while defining Mahajan, said that he who works selflessly for the betterment of people, his works are accepted and acknowledged by people is Mahajan in real sense. He further said that today marks the 200th day of Bhupendrabhai’s rule. Within these 200 days, Bhupendrabhai has become popular by formulating many decisions and welfare policies for the welfare of the people of the state. In these 200 days Bhupendrabhai has traveled 61000 km and took part in more than 300 meetings. Apart from this, Shri Jitubhai said that due to the Mukhyamantri Gaumata Poshan Yojana taken by Bhupendrabhai, new Panjrapols can be set up and animals can be maintained.

On this occasion Urban Development Minister Shri Vinodbhai Mordia, MLAs Shri Babubhai Jamnadas Patel, Rakeshbhai Shah and City BJP President Shri Amit Shah, Jainacharyas etc. were present.
