Chief Minister thanks Union Government led by Hon’ble Prime Minister

Gandhinagar, 03 July 2023: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman for disbursing GST rebate to Gujarat.

The Central Government had implemented the GST Compensation Cess Act to compensate the states for the decline in revenue during the implementation of GST. According to the provisions of this act, the financial year 2015-16 is considered as the base year, and the protected income of the states was fixed for a period of five years from 01-07-2017 to 30-06-2022, based on an annual growth rate of 14%.

In this context, the Central Government paid a GST rebate of ₹9021 crore to the Gujarat government today.
