Guj CM allocates Rs. 74 crore for repair-resurfacing of roads damaged due to heavy rains in the state

CM sanctions Rs. 74 crores for urgent repairing and resurfacing of roads under Mukhyamantri Shaheri Sadak Yojana


Gandhinagar, Tuesday:  Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel today sanctioned Rs. 74.70 crores under Mukhyamantri Shaheri Sadak Yojana for urgent repairing and resurfacing of roads damaged due to heavy rains in the state.

Mr. Patel said that keeping in view the damage caused due to heavy rain this year in the state during the monsoon season, it has been decided to allocate this amount for speedy resurfacing and repairing works. The sum will also be set for plastic road paint, curb paint, street light board and for road safety works.

Keeping in mind a public interest approach this amount will be allocated to each and every municipality immediately for the purpose of speedy completion of these works and ease of movement of the citizens.

According to the decision made by CM, each of 22 municipalities designated as class ”A”  will get Rs. 75 lakh, each of 30 municipalities in class “B” will get Rs. 60 lakh while each of 60 municipalities in class “C” will get Rs. 45 lakh, each of 44 municipalities in class “D” will get Rs. 30 lakh. A total of Rs 74.70 crore has been allotted to all 156 municipalities in the state for road repairing and resurfacing works.
