Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani approved the construction of 6 flyovers in Vadodara to combat the growing traffic. A sum of Rs 27 crore has been approved for this purpose this year. It is to be noted here that the Vadodara Municipal Corporation requested a sum of Rs 270 crore for the construction of the same. At present, the Chief Minister has directed the Department of Urban Development to allocate 10% of the total amount, i.e Rs 27 crore.
The fly overs will be constructed at Vrundavan Char Rasta Junction, Khodiyar Nagar Char Rasta Junction, Sardar Estate Junction, Sangam Char Rasta Junction, Vaasna Road Char Rasta (near Petrol Pump) and near Sama Talav.
The state government had announced the construction of 75 flyovers in mega cities during the Annual Budget 2019-20.
At present, Mr. Rupani has approved the construction of 7 out of 20 flyovers in Ahmedabad, 8 out of 10 fly overs in Surat, and 1 fly over each for Bhavnagar and Jamnagar. The grants for the construction purposes are being allocated under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shehri Vikas Yojana
