Guj CM chairs meeting with Expert Group of Doctors formed to help the government fight against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic

    High level meeting of expert doctors-ministers-senior secretaries’ in Gandhinagar

    Campaign for Intensive Public Awareness to follow proper use of Mask-Social Distance-Sanitizer-(SMS)


    Gandhinagar, Tuesday:  A meeting of the Expert Group of Doctors was held in Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel to discuss the measures to control the spread of Covid-19 in the state, treatment suggestions and guidance to help the government in future strategies.

    The doctors of the task force present at the high-level meeting focused on the need to carry out an awareness campaign for proper use of Mask, social distances, use of sanitizers, frequent hand washing, and to stay away from crowded places to prevent the spread of the disease in the state.

    Doctors made it clear that, carrying out an awareness campaign in the state to follow Social Distancing, Mask and Sanitizer (SMS) has become the need of hour.

    CM said that the State Government will take necessary steps for such public awareness. He also reiterated that GoG is committed to adopt a strategy to further streamline the health services structure in the state in the coming days and vaccinate the remaining people expeditiously.

    Shri Patel said that every person in the State should properly wear mask, maintain social distance and use sanitizer, while the doctors should also be involved in the awareness campaign.

    The meeting was attended by Health Minister Mr. Rishikesh Patel, Minister of State Smt. Nimishaben as well as experts from the Expert Group of Doctors include Dr. V. N. Shah, Sudhirbhai Shah, R.K. Patel, Amibahen Parikh, Tushar Patel, Atul Patel and Dilip Mavalankar presented their experiences of the treatment of Covid-Omicron Patients and the findings of the possible situation in the coming days.

    CM said that the State Government would conduct periodic meetings with these specialist doctors to get guidance.

    Chief Principal Secretary to CM K. Kailashnathan, Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta and senior secretaries joined the meeting.
