Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani has decided to setup an inquiry commission headed by a retired High Court Judge for a thorough investigation into the tragic incident of fire that occurred at the Shrey Hospital in Ahmedabad, in which eight people were killed, Gujarat Home Minister Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja said this evening.
The decision to setup the inquiry commission into the incident has been taken on the basis of a report submitted by two senior additional Chief Secretaries – Mrs. Sangeeta Singh (Home Dept) and Mr. Mukesh Puri (Urban Development), today. The duo was appointed to investigate into the entire incident by the Chief Minister.
The submitted report says that the preliminary it was found that the fire was caused by occurrence of a technical snag into electrical medical equipment which had spread within three minutes into the ICU.
Taking a senior note of the incident, Mr. Rupani had immediately appointed these two senior officials to investigate the matter and asked them to submit a report on their findings in within three days, Mr. Jadeja added.
