Guj CM dedicates a memorial, at the Zaverchand Meghani Primary School in Rajkot

    Hon’ble CM honors freedom fighter Himmatbhai Goda with a shawl and book

    Zaverchand Meghani memorial will be an inspiration for literature enthusiasts


    Gandhinagar, 22 July 2023: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel dedicated a memorial of Zaverchand Meghani, built at a cost of Rs.50 lakhs, at the 155-year-old Zaverchand Meghani Primary School Number 8 in Rajkot.

    The CM presented a flower garland and a thread on the statue of Zaverchand Meghani. Later, he also visited the Meghani Gatha exhibition, Meghani Saahitya Corner and a library.

    The CM also honored the freedom fighter Himmatbhai Goda with a shawl and a book. In addition to that, he conveyed a message of environmental conservation by planting a sapling in the campus. Aarchi Khunt, a student of class 10th, gifted a portrait of the CM. Shri Bhupendra Patel praised the student for her artistic talent.

    It is to be noted here that the renovation of the school was done with support of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited at a cost of Rs.50 lakhs. The Meghani Gatha Exhibition is prepared at a cost of Rs.5 lakhs with the support from Rajkot Police. Similarly, the Zaverchand Meghani library and Saahitya Corner are developed at a cost of Rs.2 lakhs with the support from Zaverchand Meghani Smruti Sansthan.

    Cabinet Ministers Shri Kunvarjibhai, Shri Raghavjibhai, Smt.Bhanuben Babariya, MPs, MLAs, dignitaries and officials were present during the event.
