CM launches the coffee table book of GUSEC and the new online course of VSCIC
Chief Minister expressed his desire to know more details about the researches of the young innovators and entrepreneurs present and invited them to come at his residence

Gandhinagar, Wednesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel felicitated the young innovators of “Vikram Sarabhai National Children Innovation Centre” in a program held at Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Auditorium of Gujarat University. He launched Vikram Sarabhai Children’s Innovation Centre’s “VSCIC Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Design Thinking Massive Online Open Course (MOOC)” and GUSEC (Gujarat University Start Up and Entrepreneurship Council) coffee table book “75 startups of GUSEC Accelerating Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.
The CM said that State Government has implemented the “Student Start-Up and Innovation” policy to provide a suitable platform to young innovators and entrepreneurs.
Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central and State Governments are continuously striving to define the term “Start Up” in its true sense. Organizations in the state including GUSEC, VSCIC, i-create, i-hub are doing excellent work in coordination with the state government to make Gujarat a hub of start-up ecosystem and provide support to young innovators and entrepreneurs from incubation, prototype development to marketing and branding ideas. Under the Start Up and Innovation Policy, assistance up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs is provided to young entrepreneurs and researchers. Today, Gujarat is taking a strong step towards attaining a leading position in the field of science, technology and innovation.
Due to lack of knowledge or fear of what people would think good ideas were not able to come out. Today, the state government is committed to provide the right platform and right environment to every start-up idea through sound government policies, schemes and coordination with educational institutions. With a wide spectrum of opportunities available today, students and entrepreneurs are opening up and coming out with their ideas. With the inspiration of entrepreneurs and researchers today, a powerful medium for career building is emerging for the youth across the state apart from jobs. Such start-ups are truly self reliant (Aatmanirbhar) and provide employment to others along with their growth. Schemes like Digital India, Start-up India, Stand-up India, Aatmanirbhar Bharat will truly realize the dream of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat “.
The CM extends his invite to all the young innovators and entrepreneurs to visit his residence to know more details about their research.
Education Minister Mr. Jitubhai Vaghani said that in the coming years, the number of people working in the innovation sector in India will be double and India will take a leading position in the world in the field of start-ups and innovation. A budget of Rs. 500 crores has been allocated by the Gujarat government this year for the start-up and innovation sector, which shows the commitment of the government for the development of the start-up and innovation sector under the successful leadership of the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel.
Education Minister further said that Entrepreneurs up to the age of 35 years can help in making the nation self-reliant by working in the research and development and start-up sector under the state government’s start-up and innovation policy. For which the State Government is committed to provide benefits.
The Vikram Sarabhai Children’s Innovation Centre identifies youth and child researchers, encourages their research propensity and provides them with a systematic institutional framework. This innovation centre is the first of its kind in the country which provides medium for children’s thinking, research and problem solving skills.
Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University Dr. Himanshu Pandya said that GUSEC of Gujarat University is the only organization making continuous efforts in the area of innovation and start-up. Gujarat University is the only university which has five Section Head Companies. Through which effective work are done in counselling research and collaboration.
Gujarat University is provided full support, cooperation and guidance by the state government due to which the state has been number one in the start-up sector for the third consecutive year. GUSEC has launched an online course to advance innovation in which anyone can apply from any corner of the country and participate in research, start-up, entrepreneurship and study.
Principal Secretary of Education Department Shri S. J. Haider, Commissioner of Higher Education Shri. M. Nagarajan, Chancellor of Gujarat University Shri. Himanshu Pandya, Registrar Dr. P. M. Patel, members of GUSEC, VSCIC, Gujarat University and UNICEF Gujarat, young innovators and students were present on the occasion.
