A new 6 lane railway over bridge to be constructed near old Saroli Jakat Naka on Surat Olpad Road 

Traffic congestion created on existing two-lane bridge due to heavy vehicles including tankers coming from Kim-Olpad will be reduced with the construction of new 6-lane bridge

Gandhinagar, Monday: Under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shehri Vikas Yojna, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel gives in principle approval of Rs. 64 crore in Urban Mobility Ghatak for railway over bridge construction work.

As a result of this in-principle approval given by the Chief Minister, the work of constructing a new 6-lane over bridge will be undertaken to replace the existing railway over bridge near the old Saroli Jakat Naka on Surat Olpad Road.

Infrastructure development in and around Surat metropolis has resulted in constant increase of traffic issue. Not only that, the traffic load on the existing two-lane bridge connecting Surat Olpad has increased day by day as heavy vehicles including tankers of Hazira based industry also come from Kim-Olpad.

In order to solve this problem, request of expansion of existing two lane bridge and construction of a new bridge with more capacity was posed by Gujarat Municipal Finance Board which has got the approval from the CM.
