Guj CM hails Prime Minister’s free food grains to 80 crore poor till November under ‘PM’s Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna’

    Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s today’s countrywide announcement to extend free food grains to 80 crore poor in the country under the PM’s Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna by another five months from July to November, 2020.

    Mr. Rupani described the announcement involving Rs. 90,000-crore as humane, sensitive and a relief for the poor, have-nots, oppressed and the exploited during the lockdown imposed in the wake of global pandemic novel coronavirus COVD-19.

    The provision of distributing 5kg wheat and rice per head per month and 1kg pulses per family per month will ensure the poor would not go to bed hungry during festivals like Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami, Ganeshotsav and Navaratri.

    Mr. Rupani gave the credit for the success of free food grains scheme to the farmers who grow the food grains and honest taxpayers, as the recognition of the humanity and simplicity of the sons of the soils.

    The Chief Minister described the Prime Minister’s another announcement of creating a mechanism, an pro-poor infrastructure for ‘One Nation: One Ration Card’ as a great idea ensuring the ration card holders can purchase the provisions in any city or village, in any state.
