Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani inaugurated the three-day Saurashtra Literature Festival, titled ‘Shabda Yagya’, organised by Aaj Kal Media Group at the Hemu Gadhvi Hall at Rajkot
Speaking on the occasion, he complimented the Aaj Kal Group’s Desh-Pardesh team for organising this literary meet – a confluence of words, arts and literature – as a social responsibility for the connoisseurs of literature of Rajkot. Literature will be the pathfinder in this changing world. It should also help the Bhatigan folk culture blossom and also popularising the State Government’s ‘Vanche Gujarat’ campaign.
Noted Kathakar Morari Bapu, who was especially present at the festival, said there should not be single house without books.
The festival is being attended by over 100 litterateurs. Each invitee was presented books on the occasion.
Those present included Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Chairman Dhansukh Bhanderi, Mayor Beenaben Acharya, MP Mohanbhai Kundaria, MLAs Govindbhai Patel and Lakhabhai Sagathia, Police Commissioner Manoj Agrawal, Collector Remya Mohan, Municipal Commissioner Udit Agrawal, humour artist Sairam Dave, Dhirubhai Sarvaiya and others.
