Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani visited the Health Centre in Trikon Baug, Rajkot as a part of the state wide ‘Karuna Abhiyan’. During his address, he said, “Gujarat is committed on following the path of non-violence. It is in our culture to show compassion and sensitivity towards every living being, including birds and animals”.
The Chief Minister lauded the efforts made by Forest Department, Animal Husbandry Department, and several NGOs by setting up 650 health centres across Gujarat under the Karuna Foundation.
Over 5000 veterinary doctors and 5,000 volunteers are offering their free services in these centres.
The number of deaths due to accidents in birds have substantially decreased in Uttrayan year by year.
