Guj CM visits Sports Complex in Tapi district and inspects its construction work

    8 acre land spread on a total of 32,912 sq.m fully equipped Sports Complex to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 28.69 crore

    Rs. 6.50 crore works are under progress while Rs. 22.19 works will begin shortly

    Indoor multi-purpose hall for games like Badminton, Basketball, Table Tennis, Shooting Range, Yoga, Gym and Judo

    Equipped with facilities like hostel which could accommodate 200 players, four lane synthetic athletic track Football ground including Basketball and Tennis Court

     

    Gandhinagar, Thursday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inspected the under-progress works of the sports complex at Kanpura in Vyara.

    After having kick started the ‘Tiranga Padyatra’ organized by Surat Municipal Corporation Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel reached Vyara.

    Finance Minister Shri Kanu Desai and Minister of State for Energy Shri Mukesh Patel joined Chief Minister for this inspection visit. A detailed presentation of the features of this sports complex and other facilities to be made accessible to was presented before the Chief Minister.

    Chief Minister and other Ministers also planted trees in the campus of this complex.

    This complex based in Vyara of Tapi district is being constructed on eight acres of land.

    26,759 sq.m.  of block no. 485 and 5,277 sq.m. of block no 489 , a total of 32,912.00 sq.m. The land has been allocated by the district administration for the construction of the sports complex.

    After having received administrative permission of Rs. 5.50 crore the work for the construction of an indoor multi-purpose hall equipped with facilities for Badminton, Basketball, Table Tennis, Shooting Range, Yoga, Gym and Judo have been started. 35% of the work has been completed and it is estimated that the entire work will be completed by 31-12-2022.

    Apart from this after having received administrative permission of approximate Rs. 01 crore the construction work of outdoor ground which includes 2 for Volleyball, 1 for Kho-Kho, 2 for Kabaddi and for Practice Archery have been started.  Thus currently Rs. 6.50 crore works are in progress and the entire work is estimated to be completed by the end of August 2022.

    Among other special matters of the complex, the work of building a hostel with a capacity to accommodate 200 players at sports complex is estimated to be Rs.14 crore, the work of four-lane synthetic athletic track including football ground is estimated to be of Rs 6.80 crore, 1 for Basketball  and 1 for tennis court estimated for Rs 1.39 crore. These works will be started at a total cost of Rs 22.19 crore.

    Thus Sports Complex equipped with all the facilities will be constructed at the cost of  Rs. 28.69 crore in the district.

    This sports complex will play a key role for the sportsperson of entire South Gujarat including Tapi district to build a career in sports.

    Tapi, the Southern most tribal district, is famous for its many attractions in Gujarat. With setting up of this sports complex will generate more talented sportspersons in the field of sports including the tribal youth of Tapi district.
