Gujarat CM Chairs State-level Workshop to Understand various Types of Digital Payment System

State-level workshop to understand various types of digital payment system was organized here in Gandhinagar in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani. In this context CM Shri Rupani expressed his commitment that Gujarat will be leading in cashless economy and digital banking transactions.

With a commitment to begin era of honesty in the nation, our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken a brave step of demonetization. In that Gujarat will adopt cashless economy path through various medium such as SMS banking, e-wallet, digital payment, Aadhar seeding etc., he added.

CM Shri Rupani appealed the government employees and various departments to adopt digital transactions practices and inspire people of Gujarat for same. Officials of nationalized bank including State Bank of India and Officers and Karmyogis of Sachivalya also were remained present in the workshop.

CM Shri Rupani said that since the Central Government has banned Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes, it will reduce the black money and also fiscal deficit. Now there is an emerging mindset that cashless transactions can be done with mobile, debit card and credit card also. He also appealed to Karmyogis and departments to show activeness in adopting this practice. He added that since our Prime Minister has given a thought of digital India, Gujarat will completely adopt cashless economy digital transaction.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Industry and Mines Department Shri Rohitbhai Patel, Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Shri Sujit Gulati, top officials of State Bank of India, various IAS officers of Gujarat Government and officers/employees from different departments were also remained present.
