– Vijay Rupani

Ahmedabad, July 2, 2017: Gujarat Chief Ministers Vijay Rupani today said that the Press has a big role to play in a democracy particularly in a big country like India and it has to change from the print to electronic to social media with the changing times.

Speaking at ‘The Idea Annual Fest’ organized by the Patrika Group in Surat, he said that Press is considered to be the Fourth Pillar of Democracy and most problems could be solved if the Press worked with dedication in the interest of the nation.

He asserted that democracy is the best form of government, necessary for the survival of a nation, society and even family. He said that India has shown to the world that democracy has been changed here with ballots and not bullets. If it takes ages to change monarchy, dictatorship and feudalism, it takes only five years for a change in democracy.

Patrika Group Chairman Gulab Kothari hailed Chief Minister Vijay Rupani’s contribution in industrial development and taking Narmada waters to people serving as a bridge between the government and the public.

It was attended by noted experts on rural and urban development, social, political, industrial, scientific, technical and even spiritual issues.
