Gujarat Civil Supplies Department bought 54,863 quintal groundnut worth Rs.27.43cr

    Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said the government has put in place an efficient and transparent system to buy groundnut at Minimum Support Price (MSP) to ensure that not one per cent wrong is committed in the process.

    This year the responsibility has been given to the State Civil Supplies Department  to procure groundnut in collaboration with Collector, NAFED, Warehousing, etc. with video shooting and qualities checking to ensure farmers face no problem at the APMC yards.

    He said that NAFED has been told to ensure genuine farmers faced no problem in selling the genuine commodity. The State has purchased 54,863 quintal groundnut worth Rs.27.43-crore from 2,755 farmers during the last three days. He has directed the authorities to expedite the purchase from Monday.
