Gujarat CM has Announced Agricultural Voluntary Disclosure Scheme-2017 at Deesa of Banaskantha

Gandhinagar, Saturday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has announced today ‘Agricultural Voluntary Disclosure Scheme-2017’ at Deesa of Banaskantha district while he came here to address farmers during Krishi Mahotsav. He clearly said that Gujarat has become the pathfinder in Green revolution of the nation with providing farmers basic needs for cultivation like water, electricity, seeds, irrigation etc.

He gave full credit to the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to reach waters of Narmada to the desert affected regions of Banaskantha, Patan, Surendranagar and Kutch and to bring green revolution in these areas.

Mr. Rupani said that Banaskantha has been top district to adopt the mantra ‘Drop more Crop more’ through drip irrigation system given by Mr. Modi and has resulted in tremendous amount of production of castor, potatoes and cumin etc. Mr. Rupani further made all the farmers to take an oath to adopt drip irrigation system in farming.

On this occasion, Mr. Rupani also announced the Agricultural Voluntary Disclosure Scheme-2017 for farmers. At times, the farmers are unaware of raising Horsepower (HP) of their electric motor. And when the level of groundwater decreases or when there is a fault in the motor, they are unable to realize that their motor is having excess load compare to its normal mode. This makes the farmers pay unwanted fine at times despite being unaware about the same.  The farmers will be given a chance to give them exemption from proceedings of paying fine. The farmers will be able to file an application in a time period of one month in order to get their motors checked and the amount of load it consumes. Even if, the load is found to be more than the usual during checking, they will not be asked to pay the fine and they will be able to increase the load in their respective motor, he added.

Mr. Rupani said that the number of cold storages in Banaskantha have been increased to 150 from 50. Within nearer future 60 more cold storages will be opened to provide the facilities of maintenance for an immense production of potato and tomato which will be made available at affordable price. State Government will provide assistance to farmers to protect their crops from termites and pests by building a wired fence at 50% discounted price.

Union Textiles Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani said that farmers are providing pulses to the whole nation. Our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has initiated to organize Krishi Mahotsav since last 13 years from Gujarat while he was the then chief minister. Krishi Mahotsav has contributed for increase in agricultural economy and agricultural growth, she added.
