Gujarat CM commences works of Surat Diamond Bourse
Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani today laid foundation stone of Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) at Surat and said that construction of SDB will give shine to Gujarat and Surat on the map of world. With realization of Diamond Bourse, world will divert to Surat for purchasing polished diamonds.
He said that diamond traders should make efforts so that business centres like Dubai and Singapore may also establish with the help of SDB and will become trade center point within short span of time. To be constructed in 36 acre land, SDB will house more than 400 offices of world diamond traders and will create more that 1.50 lakh employment opportunities. SDB will have 65 lakh square feet area and all kind of facilities will be there like entrance and reception, security surveillance, trading hall, safe deposit vault, museum, food zone, custom office, money transfer desks, travel desk, retail zone, auction house, security control room, diamond club etc.
On this occasion Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel, Revenue Minister Shri Bhupendrsinh Chudasama, Surat District In-charge and Food, Civil Supply Minister Shri Jayeshbhai Raddiya, Education Minister of State Shri Nanubhai Vanani, Parliamentary Secreatary Shri Purneshbhai Modi, MP Smt Darshnaben Jardosh, Director of Surat Diamond Bourse Shri Mathurbhai Sawani and many other dignitaries also remained present.
