Gujarat CM felicitates family members of organ donors

    Chief Minister:-

    • The joint efforts of the state government and charitable organizations have resulted in good results in the field of organ donation in the state
    • Even during the critical time of the death of a relative, the decision to donate organ and to consider for good of others is such an excellent thinking

    CM also felicitates the members of “State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO)” and the employees of the charitable organization functioning in the field of organ donation

    Gandhinagar, Wednesday:  Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that organ donation is a work done through team work. Organ donor’s family members, doctors, administration all jointly carry out task of  organ donation with one idea and one goal. As a result, the needy person gets a new life.

    Chief Minister said that the joint efforts of the state government and charitable organizations have resulted in good results in the field of organ donation in the state. Also the awareness has increased than earlier. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel felicitated the organ donating families at a function held at the Chief Minister’s residence in Gandhinagar.

    On this occasion the Chief Minister further said that the feelings of the family members who donated the organs of the deceased relatives is indescribable. In such a time of despair, it is praiseworthy decision to make of donating organ and to think for the welfare of others.

    The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to help the organ donating families and also to stand up for a noble cause of donating organ and to continue inspiring others.

    The Chief Minister also felicitated the staff of the charitable organization working in the field of organ donation and members of the “State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO)”.

    Head of Organ Donation Charitable Trust Shri Dilip Deshmukh, said, When a lamp in a family extinguishes at that point the decision to donate organs ignites many other lamps in family. Shri Deshmukh welcomed the family members of organ donating and thanked the Chief Minister for applauding them.

    Superintendent of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital Shri Rakesh Joshi, thanked the families of donor.

    It is worth mentioning here that as a result of State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) operational at Ahmedabad Civil Campus the rate of donating organ in Gujarat has increased significantly. There is also widespread awareness about donating organ.

    In the last 16 months,234 organs of approximately 74 people have been donated to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. As a result, 212 people have got new life.

    In this felicitation program Minister of State Shri Vinu Moradiya, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri K. Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, SOTTO as well as senior doctors, officers and families of organ donors of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital were present.
