Gujarat CM hands over appointment letters to Anganwadi workers in Vadodara

    Gandhingar, Saturday:  Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has emphasized that the society and the government have a special responsibility for the development of women and children in the state. The state government has allocated Rs. 800 crore for this purpose , In which the state government has taken a noble decision to provide nutritious food to pregnant women  for one thousand days under the Suposhit Mata Swasth Bal Yojana.

    CM said that, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has shown the country and the world from the very first day of his tenure as Prime Minister that the pace of development can be doubled with strong determination and all together. He said that with the mantra of ‘Sauno saath, Sauno vikas, Sauno vishwas and Sauno prayas’ our team is trying to move Gujarat towards development at a faster pace under the direction of the Prime Minister.

    CM hands over appointment letters  to 1416  Anganwadi workers  in seven districts of Gujarat Central zone and Vadodara Municipal Corporation area

    CM lays foundation stone and e-dedicates different development works of Rs. 24 crore in Vadodara

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in the presence of Revenue Minister Shri Rajendra Trivedi and Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Pradeep Parmar  awarded appointment letters to 1416 Anganwadi workers of 7 districts of Gujarat Central zone and Vadodara municipality area  in a program organized  with context to  Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The recruitment of about 7000 Anganwadi workers across the state has been completed through online process in a short span of only two months. CM started issuing appointment letters to Anganwadi workers from Vadodara.

    Stating that Gujarat is the growth engine of the country, CM added saying that, the growth engine of development can be said only when the fruits of development reach the last person standing in the cue  and even to the deprived class of society. Therefore, this government is constantly striving for the development of all.

    The Chief Minister also said that education, health and security are at the core of Gujarat’s development. In order to make all the children of the state well educated, a strong structure of education has been set up by the state government from Anganwadi to higher education. The dropout ratio has been negligible today, especially as a result of the state government’s efforts to stabilize children through primary education.  Giving the role of Sevayagna during COVID- 19 pandemic, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that in those difficult times, the developed countries of the world did not care about their citizens. In this regard, the Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi has saved the country from Corona  by providing free vaccination and also by providing various health related facilities for the health of 130 crore people of India. Concerned that a poor family in the country will not remain hungry due to this pandemic, they have given free food to all the poor families.

    Under Ayushyaman Bharat Yojana, the world’s largest healthcare scheme, The Prime Minister has provided health protection cover of Rs 5 lakh to all those families who are in need. Stating that women are safe and secure in Gujarat, CM said that even in Gujarat, women can go out at midnight and return back without  panic. The state government has made appropriate arrangements for the protection of women.

    Applauding the Women and Child Welfare Department, the Chief Minister said that in a very short span of time, about seven thousand Anganwadi workers have been given appointment letters for transparency and efficiency. Appointment letters will be given to the selected women in the next one week. The state government has done an excellent job of humanistic service by giving all the necessary benefits to the destitute, the elderly, Divyang and women.

    In response to the Prime Minister’s call for Atmanirbhar Bharat, he called on all to join the campaign for a self-reliant Gujarat.

    Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Smt. Manisha Vakil said that Anganwadi workers play an important role in strengthening the future of the state. These women  are successfully doing the work of inculcating values in the children coming to Anganwadi. Their contribution to the development of the child is important. He added that Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has shown a special sympathy towards women and children by increasing the budget of our department by 42% for building a well-nourished Gujarat.

    Smt. Vakil also said that we are committed to give the benefit of Janakalyan Yojana to one hundred percent beneficiaries. That is why in the financial assistance scheme for women in the form of Ganga Swaroop women’s more than 12 lakh women were given Rs. 1600 crore directly to their account.

    The Chief Minister inaugurated the Shakti Mela organized by Gujarat Women’s Economic Development Corporation and Women and Child Development Department. The Shakti Mela will have an exhibition and sale of items produced by women. The people of the town will be able to visit this fair in city’s Navlakhi Maidan till May 30.

    The Chief Minister gave nutrition kits to pregnant mothers, approval letters of Vahli Dikari Yojana, financial assistance approval letters to Ganga Swaroop women’s, Felicitated women entrepreneurs, disbursement of loans to self help groups, distribution of benefits of Mahila Swavalamban Yojana, assistance to Divyang also virtually dedicated and laid foundation stone for 61 Anganwadi Centres constructed at a cost of Rs. 455 lakhs in Vadodara City as well as virtually dedicated and laid foundation stone for various public welfare projects of Vadodara Municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs. 24 crore.

    CM also  distributed a booklet of the Women and Child Development Department  and an information booklet on questions and solutions regarding the schemes.

    Secretary and Commissioner of Women and Child Development Shri K.K. Nirala outlined the program.

    At the beginning of the program  Mayor Shri Keyur Rokadia welcomed all and ICDS Director Shri D N Modi gave a vote of thanks.

    On this occasion District Panchayat President Shri Ashok Patel, MP Smt. Ranjan Bhatt, MLAs other dignitaries  and a large number of beneficiaries including women and people were present.
