“Gujarat Government committed to implement ‘Cancel Cancer’ campaign in the State with people’s cooperation,” says Vijaybhai Rupani

Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today reiterated his call to make Gujarat ‘Cancel Cancer’ with people’s cooperation, while inaugurating a Cancer Awareness and Treatment Camp, jointly organized by the Punit Rupani Memorial Trust, Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown and Ahmedabad-based HCG Cancer Hospital, in Rajkot.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the State Government is committed to implement the PEP Therapy in Gujarat in vogue in developed countries, particularly for early detection of cervical cancer prevalent among women.
Mr. Rupani said that his government is also committed to build more super specialty hospitals and to take healthcare facilities across the state, to the last man in the last mile. The government has relaxed the Ma Amrutam Yojna for senior citizens with income limit up to Rs 6-lakh with treatment up to Rs.3-lakh from this year’s budget. Referring to the Punit Rupani Trust, he said it was set up in 1995 for treatment and operations at reasonable rates and its reach has spread to Saurashtra.
Dr Kaustubh Patel of HCG Hospital said those who can recognize cancer can win and it can be won. Avoiding addictions that cause cancer, lifestyle, eating regimen and early treatment can save cancer patients.
Dr. Jaiminbhai Upadhyay in his welcome address gave details of the Punit Rupani Trust for providing information, creating awareness and treatment through medical camps. Doctors participating include Kaushik Patel, Kalpanaben Kothari, Dushyant Mandalik, Parinbhai Patel, Bharatbhai Prajapati, and Rashminben Shah.
Prominent among those present included MP Mohanbhai Kundaria, MLAs Govindbhai Patel, Arvindbhai Raiyani, Lakhabhai Sagathia, Municipal Finance Board Chairman Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi, Deputy Mayor Darshitaben Shah, ex-MLA Bhanuben Babaria and Ahmedabad District Collector Vikrant Pandey.
Organizers included Trust’s Anjaliben Rupani, Amishbhai Rupani, Divyeshbhai Patel, Maheshbhai Bhatt, Nayanbhai Shah and Bipinbhai Vasa. Dr Vibhakar Vachharajani proposed a vote of thanks.
