Gujarat CM inaugurates International Conclave on Higher Education at Gandhinagar

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani today flagged-off International Conclave on Higher Education Quality, Governance and Innovation in Mahatma Mandir at Gandhinagar. He said that Gujarat has become education hub with tradition of ‘Shiksha-Diksha’ so that it may march from traditional education to employment opportunity and may get global front for knowledge.

During the program, Government of Gujarat has signed five MOUs between Gujarat Government and Denmark, Canada, Netherland and British Council for equipped education and knowledge sharing in presence of CM Shri Rupani. These memorandums of understanding includes collaboration in Education and research activities between Embassy of Denmark, New Delhi and Gujarat Knowledge Society, Skilled development, Capacity building and research between British Council India and knowledge consortium of Gujarat, Training for students between Nasscom-National Association of Software and Services Companies and Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and Student exchange, faculty exchange and joint faculty research between Schoolish School of Business York University, Canada and P.D.P.U. Senior Secretaries Mrs. Anju Sharma, Mr. A. J. Shah, Mr. Anish Mankad signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of Government of Gujarat.

CM Shri Rupani said that with the blend of democracy and people power Gujarat has realized the mantra of “Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas” through qualitative education. Expressing hope that this conclave will become an important platform for knowledge sharing, Shri Rupani said that education will become centre point of knowledge economy as it blends in to modern knowledge aiming for welfare of worlds’ human being. While briefing about the necessity of skill, scale and speed in current knowledge century; Shri Rupani said that the investment made in education is the work and responsibility of nation building for the future of our youth. It is an innovative initiative of Gujarat to make all-round development of model of specialization, innovation and excellence in university education system from forensic science to yoga universities for the youth with infinite talent, he added.

He expressed his commitment to make Gujarat on top position by enhancing the strength of youth with new innovation on the basis of start-up.

Through his audio-visual message, the Union Human Resources Development Minister Shri Prakash Javdekar said that India has accepted the best level of higher education from the era of Nalanda and Takshashila. Presently, the Indian Education Institutions have to be more equipped to maintain competitiveness at the global level. With emphasizing on the requirement of best level education system for the sustainable prosperity, Shri Javdekar considered education as the base of the innovation. Government will fulfill the vision of our Hon Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by cooperating in research and innovation sector, he added. He also expressed his emotion that Gujarat will be the leader in quality innovation development sector for higher education.

On the occasion, Head of European Union Delegation, Country Director to British Council India, Ambassador of Denmark, Australian Consul General and Deputy High-Commissioner of United Kingdom; State Education Minister Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Minister of State for Primary Education Department Shri Nanubhai Vanani, Minister of State for Road-Building and Higher Technical Education Department Shri Jaydrathsinh Parmar, Parliamentary Secretary Smt Vibhavariben Dave, Principle Secretary to Education Department Shri Mukesh Puri, Principle Secretary to Education Department Ms. Anju Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of various universities, higher authorities and experts of education department, various teachers and students in huge number were remained present.
