Gujarat CM lays stone of Rs.7.70-cr AII Project at Aji GIDC Estate at Rajkot

    Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today said that Gujarat Government will set up 16 new GIDC Estates over 26,000 hectares in the State, including one at Khirasara in Rajkot district, over and above 20-lakh small and medium industries working in the state, to boost further industrial and job opportunities.

    Speaking at a function to mark the ground breaking ceremony of the Rs.7.70-crore Assist to Industrial Infrastructure (AII) project at Aji GIDC Estate in Rajkot, he said that the State Government will provide 80 per cent and the Association 20 per cent cost of AII. AII is to provide basic infrastructure like road resurfacing, covering open gutter lines, installing CCTV cameras, street light, underground water tank and roadside paver blocks.

    Mr. Rupani said that 70 per cent of MoUs signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit are for Small and Medium Scale Industrial Units. The state government plans to train 1-lakh apprentices in various trades, alongside skill development necessary for quality control. He presented agreement letters to apprentices, HK Industries and Amul Industries being the leading employers.

    The meeting began by paying tributes to late former Prime Minister Atak Bihari Vajpayee, followed by tree plantation and cleanliness drive, distributing 1,100 dustbins. Aji GIDC Estate Association President Jeevanlal Patel presented Rs.1.51-lakh towards CM’s Relief Fund. Rajkot’s industrialists Sureshbhai Santoki, Mayurbhai Shah, Pravinbhai, Viratbhai, Parshottambhai Kamani were presented awards.

    Those present on the occasion included MP Mohanbhai Kundariya, Mayor Binaben Acharya, BJP City President Kamleshbhai Mirani, Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Chairman Dhansukhbhai Mirani, MLAs Govindbhai Patel, Arvindbhai Raiyani, Lakhabhai Sagathia, former BJP City President Nitin Bharadwaj, SC Morcha National General Secretary Bhanuben Babaria, Collector Rahul Gupta, Police Commissioner Manoj Agrawat, DDO Anil Ranavasia, among others.
