    Gandhinagar, Friday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Beej worshiped Lord Jagannath and his chariot early morning in the premises of the temple. For the first time, the Chief Minister was blessed with the privilege to perform Pahind ritual of Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra. Minister of State for Home Department Shri Harsh Sanghvi and Minister of State for Industries Department Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma also participated in this ceremony.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel also cleansed the chariot of God with a gold broom thereby performing the traditional  Ashadhi Beej Rath Yatra’s  Pahind ritual.

    It is worth mentioning here that the COVID test report of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, which was conducted yesterday which came negative. Though he had minor COVID symptoms but was completely healthy otherwise.

    As per the tradition every year during Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra the Chief Minister performs Pahind ritual and flags off  Rath Yatra. Shri Bhupendra Patel continued the tradition and for the first time he flagged off 145th Rath Yatra as the Chief Minister.

    On the occasion of Ashadhi Beej Chief Minister reached the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad early  morning and worshiped Lord Jagannath and with lot of devotion participated in bringing out the main chariot of the Lord out of the temple premises.

    On the occasion of Rath Yatra, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel sent greetings to all the citizens and also prayed that Jagannathji shower blessings on all and give them good health, well-being, prosperity and happiness to all in their lives.

    Minister of State for Home Department Shri Harsh Sanghvi said that Today, Lord Jagannath has come out for Nagarcharya to give his blessings to the devotees of the state.The whole town is eager to welcome the Lord.  In addition to it he said that Today Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah performed Mangala Aarti and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel performed the traditional Pahind ritual.

    Minister of State for Home Department Shri Harsh Sanghvi, referring to the security arrangements regarding the Rath Yatra, said that all arrangements have been made by Gujarat Police for this Rath Yatra. This Rath Yatra will be the centre of faith and management. Apart from this, Gujarat Police have been stationed to go through the entire route. About 25,000 police personnel will be stationed along the route.

    On this occasion Mahant Dilipdas Ji, Minister of State for Home Department Shri Harsh Sanghvi, Minister of State for Industries Department Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Shri Kirit Parmar, as well as BJP leaders and other office bearers – devotees were present.
