    Norms of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Incentive Compensation Scheme made more liberal

    • 100% waiver of notice fee-interest-penalty and warrant fee for citizens who make repayments of all taxes due on or before 31 March- 2022 by March 31-2023
    • 10% rebate to taxpayers who pay tax amount in advance for the year 2023-24 by 30 June-2023
    • Additional five percent rebate to taxpayers who pay advance tax through the online portal

    Gandhinagar, Friday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has taken two important decisions giving relief to the citizens of the state to pay all kinds of arrears of municipal taxes. The Chief Minister has announced Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Incentive Compensation Yojana with the aim of making all categories of municipalities of the state self-sufficient through adequate funding and financial management and encouraging the tax payers of the towns to pay taxes.

    In this context, Chief Minister has taken two public interest decisions to make the norms of this compensation scheme more liberal. According to this decision made by the Chief Minister, the tax payers who pay the arrears of all types of taxes on their properties up to 31st March-2022 or earlier by 31st March-2023 will be waived 100 percent of the amount of notice fee, interest penalty and warrant fee.

    Shri Patel has also decided that 10% rebate-compensation under this Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Incentive Compensation Scheme will be given to the taxpayers who pay the tax amount in advance by 30 June-2023 for the next financial year 2023-24. An additional five percent rebate will be given to taxpayers who make advance payment of such tax through mobile application or e-Nagar online portal by 30-June-2023. i.e citizens who pay advance tax online will get a total of 15 percent rebate on paying the tax payable for the year 2023-24 in advance by 30 June-2023.

    As a result of this public interest decision of the Chief Minister, the citizens of the state will get encouragement and motivation to pay taxes and advance taxes for the next year. Not only this but online tax transactions will also get a boost.
