Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today dedicated the 3rd Seva Sadan of the Rajkot City, two new Police Stations in Rajkot, as he also laid the foundation stones of the new Sarkari Vasahat near University Post Office and flats for SEBC people under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna at Munjka Gam. Total project costs Rs.286-crore.
The new Seva Sadan on 6,247 sq. m. near Race Course is built at a cost of Rs.10.76-crore, is 200 metres away from the Collectorate. While there is parking in ground floor, offices and meeting hall on next four floors, with provision for higher floors. He handed over the documents to 19 government offices to be shifted to the new Seva Sadan.
He dedicated new Urban Taluka Police Station on Jamnagar Road at a cost of Rs.1.90-crore and Gandhigram-2 Police Station on built at a cost of Rs.1.95-crore. Thus there are now total 13 Police Stations in Rajkot.
Mr. Rupani laid the foundation stone of 108 B-Type flats for Sarkari Vasahat to be built by Roads & Buildings Department at a cost of Rs.15.79-crore, each with a carpet area of 48.81 sq m., near University Post Office.
He also laid the stone for 784 affordable EWS-II type 14-storied flats of 40 sq m carpet area each, with parking to be built by Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA) at a cost of Rs.68.80-crore under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna for people below salary of Rs.3-lakh per annum in Town Planning Scheme-17. They will also have 8-tower commercial complex. Each flat will have two bedrooms, hall, kitchen lift, solar heater, etc. The Centre will provide Rs.11.76-crore, State Government Rs.11.76-cr, RUDA Rs.2.20-crore and beneficiaries Rs.43.12-crore.
The flats were allotted after a draw. He also distributed papers to 211 beneficiaries.
Speaking at a function from Raiyya Road to mark the occasion, Mr. Rupani said that his government is building development projects without any fresh taxation. Nearly Rs.1.70-lakh crore were allocated in last years’ state budget as against Rs7,000-crore twenty years ago. He said the government is conscious not to waste money. The fund utilization is 90 per cent and transparent in administration.
Referring to likely water problem in the area, he said the government will spare no effort to ensure there is no water problem in summer.
He said that the government paid equal attention to social parameters that resulted in all round development of the state for the welfare of all sections of the people
Rajkot Mayor Jaimanbhai Upadhyay presided over the function. Collector Vikrant Pandey welcomed the guests. Saurashtra University Vice-Chancellor Pratapsinh Chauhan proposed a vote of thanks.
