Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani extended his greetings to the people of Kutch, Kuchchi Madus, in Gujarat on the occasion of their New Year Asadhi Bij.
Speaking at a New Year celebration function at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium at Rajkot today, he firmly resolved to make Kutch, surrounded by the Rann, into an Eden Garden. The State Government will spare no stone unturned to realise his resolve.
Given the Kuchchi peoples’ resilience and determination to rise from the debris of the unprecedented earthquake and Kuchchis settled in different parts of the world coming to the aid of their homeland, Mr. Rupani exuded confidence that they would make it. He referred to the contribution of freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Verma. He also referred to the foundation laying ceremony of Hanumanji Temple on the borders of the Kutch.
Referring to his recent visit to Israel, he said that Kutch has similarities with Israel and he will try to develop Kutch to the lines of Israel.
Mr. Rupani presented mementos and citations to meritorious students and successful citizens of Bhanushali Samaj on the occasion. Their leader Sureshbhai Katarmal welcomed the Chief Minister.
