Gujarat CM visits Command and Control Centre of Israel

Usage of Smart technology will be a game changer for the development of smart cities in urban governance sector of Gujarat and India: Vijay Rupani 

On the fifth day of his visit to Israel, Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani visited the Command and Control Centre in Tel Aviv, the capital city of Israel.

Mr. Rupani reviewed how technology is being used along with analytics to handle various problems of the city of Tel Aviv including security concerns. During the meeting he said that 100 cities are being developed as Smart Cities where the use of technology for solving problem and citizen engagement is going to be a game changer in urban governance.

Mr. Rupani mentioned that six cities of Gujarat namely Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Dahod and Gandhinagar are being developed as smart cities where technologies are being integrated with artificial intelligence to develop smart solutions for issues of urban management. He said that mutual learnings between Israel and Gujarat can always create better synergies and better outcomes for both the parties.

It is worth to mention here that the purpose of visiting the Tel Aviv Command and Control Centre was to comprehend systems & processes in place to monitor various aspects of city management covering lighting, pedestrian movements, transport systems, and to discuss aspects of replicability to Gujarat.
