Gujarat CM visits NaanDan Jain Irrigation Company

Gujarat has realized Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of “Per Drop More Crop”- Vijay Rupani 

On the fifth day of his visit to Israel, Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani with his delegation visited the NaanDan Jain Micro Irrigation Company. Jain Irrigation is a leading micro Irrigation company based in India which has acquired NaanDan Irrigation Company an 80 year old company in Israel and is successfully operating the largest Kibbutz in Israel.

Generally Israeli companies expand their business in India but this is a prominent example of acquiring an Israeli Company for which Mr. Rupani heartily congratulated.

The CM discussed the Micro-irrigation technology of Gujarat and Israel’s Digital and Precision farming which could create the ‘Next Generation’ in agriculture sector for producing better output in the same land area with the same amount of water.

During the discussion, the CM said that Gujarat has realised Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of “Per Drop More Crop” by developing Drop and Sprinkler techniques in irrigation on the Israeli pattern. He further stated the Gujarat will brainstorm on how can the Micro -irrigation plus technology be utilised in the most optimum manner in Saurashtra, tribal areas and South Gujarat which has varied agro-climatic zones and varied levels of water availability.

Mr. Rupani in the meeting with NaanDan Jain Delegates expressed keen interest in getting details on the different aspects of Drone-based comprehension for testing the crop, water stress and its thermal profiling. He expressed his confidence that this system would benefit the farmers of the state.

Mr. Rupani said that Israel and Gujarat have similar geographic situation and both of them show uniform characteristics in terms of the scarcity of natural resources of irrigation. There has been a huge contribution of the NaanDan Jain Irrigation Company in the tough times of Israel’s agriculture sector.

Minister of State for Agriculture Mr. Jaydrathsinh Parmar, Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture, Farmer Welfare Department Mr. Sanjay Prasad and members of Gujarat Delegation joined the meeting.
