Gujarat CM’s pledge to provide drinking water to the citizens in the towns of the state

As a plan to meet the estimated water requirement according to the estimated population for  the coming years 2051-52

Gandhinagar,Saturday: With the motive that citizens get adequate potable water supply on regular basis,  Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel gives in principle approval for works worth Rs 52.75 crores in a single day for one Municipal Corporation and five towns. Under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, Shri Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned one zone of Junagadh Municipal Corporation as well as various water supply works of Khambhaliya, Dhoraji, Zhalod, Chalala and Mansa municipalities.

The Chief Minister has given approval to the proposals submitted by the Urban Development Department for these schemes keeping in view the water requirement of the estimated population for coming years 2051-52 as per the current base year in these towns.

Accordingly, Rs. 20.85 crore, for Khambhaliya Municipality Rs. 7.22 crore, for Dhoraji Municipality, Rs. 2.80 crore for Jhalod Municipality Rs. 14.16 crore, for Chalala Municipality Rs. 3.40 crore and for Mansa Municipality Rs. 4.32 crore   approval has been given.

As a result of this in-principle approval given by Shri Bhupendra Patel, Rising Main, Gravity Main, distribution system, water sump, pump house, pumping machinery, underground sump works as well as distribution system and storage works for new areas in five municipalities besides Junagadh Municipal Corporation will be held.
