Gujarat Government’s Core Committee meets with CM and Dy CM in chair

Gujarat Core Committee headed by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai at its meeting here today to review the situation arising out of threat from global pandemic novel coronavirus COVID-19 decided to clamp curfew in the walled city area (old fort city) and adjoining Dani Limbda locality from April 15 to April 21, 2020.

Since nearly 50 per cent of total 350 coronavirus cases in Gujarat are reported from Ahmedabad city alone, Mr. Rupani said that curfew is being imposed after finding concentration of such cases in the notified areas, following a series of meetings with the stakeholders and analysis of the situation.

Meanwhile, he said that Gujarat Government decided to extend the lockdown in the state till May 3, 2020 in deference to Prime Minister Modi’s call for extending the countrywide lockdown till May 3 to check the spread of the dreaded virus.

The Chief Minister thanked the people of the state for their cooperation to implement lockdown and observing protocol, and sought their continued cooperation to stay at home till May 3 for their own safety.
